Microsoft expands Think Deeper and Voice to unlimited use for free

Microsoft has just opened up unlimited access to its Voice and Think Deeper tools to all Copilot users for free.

The technology giant launched its large language model (LLM) chatbot Copilot two years ago, aimed to boost productivity. Now, users can use the recently introduced features on an unlimited basis.

In a news release, the company notes that many users have been hitting limits and suggests this change should help.

It doesn’t seem to be the only advanced feature that will be expanded upon either, as Microsoft says the team is “working hard to scale unlimited access.” It does warn, however, that some delays or interruptions may be seen during periods of high demand or if security concerns are detected.

“Copilot Pro users will retain preferred access to our latest models during peak usage, early access to experimental AI features (more on that coming soon), and additional use of Copilot in select Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.”

What are Microsoft Copilot’s Think Deeper and Voice features?

The ‘Think Deeper’ feature has been recently introduced and utilizes OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model to address complex questions or tasks.

On the company’s website, it states the tool is “helpful for tackling more complex topics like making a big purchase, assessing the future value of a home renovation, or planning a career move.” To access it, users simply have to tap the ‘Think Deeper’ button within Copilot and then submit the prompt as usual.

As for the ‘Voice’ capability, people can now have longer conversations as the access has become unlimited. “Use Voice to practice a few simple phrases in a new language to help you navigate when visiting a new country or meeting new people, tell Copilot about a job you’re applying for and your work experience and ask it to mock interview you, or get some hands-free cooking advice as you follow a new recipe step by step,” Microsoft says.
