Apple to launch touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro with M6 chip
Apple will launch MacBook Pro models with touchscreen OLED displays and M6-series chips later this year.
The development indicates a significant product expansion, potentially introducing a new Ultra-tier model priced up to 20% higher than current Pro models. This move targets professional users seeking enhanced display technology and processing power.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming MacBook could carry an Ultra moniker and sit above the recently launched M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBooks. Gurman stated he is unsure whether Apple will adopt the Ultra branding or stick with the traditional Pro name.
The new OLED touchscreen MacBooks could see prices rise by as much as 20%, according to the analyst. Gurman added that Apple is planning to expand its lineup with options across different price points.
Apple recently introduced the more affordable MacBook Neo with a starting price of $599. The new OLED MacBooks with touchscreens will reportedly launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.
