Clover plans to launch a payments platform designed for small- to medium-sized healthcare providers, including those in primary care, dental services and behavioral health, in early 2026.

Developed in partnership with healthcare payment solutions provider Rectangle Health, the new Clover PracticePay combines Clover’s point-of-sale system and value-added services with Rectangle Health’s Practice Management Bridge technology, the companies said in a Monday (July 21) press release.

Clover PracticePay includes financing options, recurring billing, text-to-pay, QR codes and online payment portals; is accessed through a branded Clover dashboard that works alongside the provider’s practice management software; and is designed to comply with HIPAA and PCI requirements, according to the release.

“Healthcare is an important vertical for the banking industry, and with this new solution, we are enabling our financial institution partners to better serve a critical customer base within their communities,” Katie Whalen, senior vice president and head of merchant FI channels and small business strategy at Clover, said in the release.

Rectangle Health CEO Dominick Colabella said in the release: “This collaboration will enable providers to enhance their financial systems while remaining focused on what matters most — their patients.”

Rectangle Health launched its Practice Management Bridge in January 2024, saying the cloud-based platform integrates three core products for healthcare providers: patient engagement, revenue acceleration and practice compliance management.

For Clover, whose parent company is Fiserv, the launch of Clover PracticePay will mark an expansion beyond the company’s core verticals of restaurant, retail and personal services, according to the release.

“As we continue to evolve Clover to meet the needs of small- and medium-sized businesses, trusted partners like Rectangle Health play a critical role in delivering specialized solutions for key industries,” Whalen said in the release.

When announcing the release of a new suite of tools for small businesses in October, Fiserv said Clover’s offerings are designed to help these businesses meet challenges like rising costs, labor shortages, and attracting and retaining customers.

Fiserv Head of Merchant Services Jennifer LaClair said at the time in a press release: “An enhanced suite of industry-specific solutions allows small business owners across industries to transform challenges into opportunities and streamline processes so they can focus on what matters most — elevating their business.”
