Physical keys return in new 14 and 16 models

Dell Technologies has reintroduced its XPS laptop line, unveiling new XPS 14 and XPS 16 models at CES, following a 2025 rebranding initiative that impacted the company’s PC market share. The new laptops feature redesigned function rows with traditional keys and an “invisible” trackpad with a light border, addressing prior user feedback. Dell will also prominently display the XPS logo on these devices, replacing the Dell brand name.

The XPS 14 weighs 3 pounds, a 0.5-pound reduction from its predecessor, while the XPS 16 weighs 3.6 pounds, 1 pound lighter than the previous generation. Both systems integrate Intel’s Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 chips and offer OLED display options. Dell has also indicated plans for a new, thinner, and lighter XPS 13 model set for release later this year, which it expects to offer at a lower price point than previous XPS iterations.

The XPS 14 and XPS 16 are scheduled for release on January 6, with initial configurations priced at $2,050 and $2,200, respectively. Lower-priced, entry-level configurations are anticipated in February.
