It’s been a long time coming but Avowed, Obsidian’s next baby, is on the horizon, bringing some classic RPG goodness.
If you’re a fan of the genre, played Obsidian’s previous titles, or just like the look of fancy spells and swords, you’ll want to get into Avowed as soon as possible.
Luckily, there is an early access period you can take advantage of and here, we’ll explain how you can get it.
Avowed early access explained and how to getAvowed early access is not tied to signing up or clicking any email links from the studio ahead of launch, it is sadly a paid affair.
The only way to play Avowed early is by purchasing the Premium Edition. Unlike some games that offer multiple early access routes, Avowed limits this benefit strictly to those who opt for this upgraded version.
By purchasing the Premium Edition, you’ll be able to start playing on February 13, 2025, a full five days before the standard release on February 18.
This applies whether you’re playing on Xbox Series X|S or PC, giving you a significant head start in exploring Obsidian’s new take on the RPG genre.
There are no alternative methods to gain early access — no special events, no Game Pass perks, and no other edition of the game will provide this advantage. If you want to jump into Avowed before everyone else, the Premium Edition is your only ticket.
While the Avowed Premium Edition is a costly affair coming in at $89.99, if you are planning on playing via Game Pass, you can ‘upgrade’ your access for the much lower price of $24.99.
Alongside the early access benefit, if you do pick up the Premium Edition, you’ll also receive two Premium Skin Packs and access to both the Digital Artbook and Soundtrack.
This means if you are purchasing the Premium Edition for early access, you’ll net yourself some additional goodies, making it an even more attractive offer!
