The digital collectible card game Marvel Snap is officially back up and running, after it faced a ‘temporary outage.’

The game’s developer said the downtime was a “surprise to us and wasn’t planned,” but it happened on the same day that the ByteDance-owned TikTok app was banned for a number of hours.

Marvel Snaps’ current publisher, Nuverse, is owned by the same parent company as the short-form video platform which has experienced major uncertainty over the last several months.

In a post on Monday evening, the developer Second Dinner posted an update and declared the game back online.

MARVEL SNAP is back online in the U.S. But to make sure this NEVER happens again, we’re working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher. This is the start of a new era for MARVEL SNAP.

We know this probably leaves you with even more questions than…

When asked by a follower about the comps for the downtime and when they are coming, Second Dinner replied by explaining how they’ve been spending the last couple of days.

“We’ve been focusing all of our efforts on bringing the game back online first. Also, this all occurred over the weekend and a US holiday.

“We greatly appreciate your patience and we’ll provide updates as soon as possible.”

Some in-game purchasing errors have also been highlighted, with the team stating they are “working to resolve that as soon as we can.”

We've been working around the clock to bring MARVEL SNAP back up in the U.S. and hope to have it back online within 24 hours. We'll update you once it's back up.

In the meantime, global players should be able to continue to play with no issues.

It was over the weekend when Americans found themselves unable to play the game and it became unavailable from the app stores. For the rest of the world, the game remained playable.

“During this downtime, we realize that many of you are missing out on time-based content, rewards, and Missions.

“Second Dinner is committed to ensuring that all players are compensated for their lost time.

“We’ll be sharing more information on this as the situation evolves,” the company explained on X.

To reassure fans of the game, Second Dinner also said in a post: “MARVEL SNAP isn’t going anywhere.”
