Meet Amazon’s device that keeps you online when Wi-Fi fails

Amazon’s eero launched the eero Signal 4G LTE on Wednesday to provide automated cellular backup for home networks during internet outages.

The $99.99 device serves as a failover system that maintains connectivity for remote workers and security systems by switching to a cellular network when primary service fails. The launch targeting residential users follows recent trends in network reliability requirements for home-based professional environments.

The hardware connects to USB-C powered eero devices that support Wi-Fi 6 or higher standards. It utilizes a built-in multi-carrier eSIM to access networks from major providers, including AT&T and Verizon.

Users must maintain an annual eero Plus subscription to access the backup data services. The company offers a $99.99 annual plan with 10 gigabytes of data or a $199.99 plan with 100 gigabytes of monthly data, according to the product announcement.

Eero confirmed plans to release a 5G version of the hardware for $199.99 later in 2026. The company also intends to expand device compatibility to eero Business service plans by the end of the year.
