Monster Hunter Wilds pre-load: When can you install ahead of launch?
After the most recent Monster Hunter Wilds Betas, the hype is at an all time high for this next, more open-world entry in the franchise.
If you’re one of the many that are looking forward to getting stuck into yet more monster killing, knowing when you can pre-load is key to playing as soon as launch arrives.
Here, we’ll explain everything on the Monster Hunter Wilds pre-load so you can get the game installed and jump in when it’s available in your region.
Monster Hunter Wilds pre-load explainedPre-loading is a great way to get prepped for the release date of games, allowing you to install most, or all of the title, removing the need to rush to download when everybody else is on launch.
Luckily, Capcom has included a pre-load for Monster Hunter Wilds, but there a specific time on when this goes live.
This differs depending on what platform you’re playing on too, just to make things extra confusing.
Here is when you can pre-load Monster Hunter Wilds for both console and PC:
- PS5 – 48 hours prior to launch in each region
- Xbox Series X|S – February 25, 9pm PT, globally
- PC/Steam – February 25, 9pm PT, globally

As for what file size you’re looking at for the install, it’s a little up in the air since there have been no absolute confirmations.
However, if we were to go off the Steam listing, this states 75 GB of storage space is required, so plan for in and around this figure and you should be good to go.
