Nvidia RTX 5090 price drops but good luck finding one

Recent eBay sales data compiled by a Reddit user shows average prices for the GPU have dropped from $6,000 at launch to roughly $4,000, though they remain well above Nvidia’s MSRP amid ongoing shortages.
- Supply vs. scalpers: The RTX 5090, part of Nvidia’s Blackwell series, saw eBay listings spike to $10,000 shortly after launch due to limited stock, echoing past GPU scarcity cycles. Prices now show tighter clustering, with standard deviation dropping from $1,121.98 (Jan 30–Mar 21) to $145.60 in March.
- Global adjustments: Nvidia cut European RTX 50-series prices by nearly 5% as the Euro strengthened against the dollar, lowering the RTX 5090 to €2,229. Availability remains sparse, however, with most units still funneling to resellers.
