The long-awaited Nvidia Shield TV update, Shield Experience 9.2, is now rolling out to users after more than two years since the last major update.

The last widely-available update occurred in November 2022, and Shield Experience 9.2 started its rollout this week after being initially available through a hotfix program beginning in October.
Overview of Shield Experience 9.2This update addresses a variety of issues, including choppy video playback during fast-forward and rewind operations, unresponsive remotes after waking from sleep, and issues with Apple Music during casting. In addition to these fixes, the update introduces an improved beta match Frame Rate feature and support for AURO-3D, allowing for high-resolution immersive sound through HDMI when connected to a compatible decoder.
However, users may encounter a known issue; Shield Experience 9.2 might disrupt Google Home integration. Following the update, users need to manually re-add their Shield device to the Google Home app.

Shield Experience 9.2 enhances GeForce NOW capabilities by adding support for several new games, including Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Black Myth: Wukong, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Users can check for the update by navigating to Settings, Device Preferences, and selecting Check for Upgrade. Additionally, a Quick Settings toggle allows for more efficient update checks from the main settings menu.
