Online casino gaming continues to drive strong results in the seven U.S. states where it is a regulated activity.

In each state, year-on-year growth has spiked at least 25%, with a collective $868.6 million recorded for the month of April.

Overall, the increase from April last year was 32.5%, reflecting an upturn of more than $213 million, but the figure falls a little short of the $900 million record feat achieved in March this year.

Except for Michigan and New Jersey, which do not publish their relevant monthly figures, the wagering handle reached $10.2 billion, with Pennsylvania responsible for the vast majority of that figure.

The Keystone State claimed $7.5 billion, with Connecticut registering $1.6 billion for the third time over the last four months.

Online casino gaming spending saw taxable revenue reach $787.9 in April, with the state purse, across the relevant states, receiving $169.3 million of the total.

That figure is up $43.9 million from last year, but does not include further local taxes or tribal dues.

Connecticut’s duopoly of DraftKings and FanDuel

Individually, Connecticut achieved a new record handle for the second successive month and the Constitution State is an interesting case example, given the effective duopoly that exists in the market between DraftKings and FanDuel.

The former is continuing a heavy push in the state, evidenced by its promotional spend of almost $11 million in April, the second consecutive month it reached eight figures and a new record.

Overall, DraftKings recorded a record $31.6 million in gross revenue for April, up 38.3% year-on-year and a decent increase on the $28.4 million registered in March.

FanDuel may not have quite reached the level of its competitor, but its year-on-year gross revenue was up by a huge 57.6%, at $29.2 million.

That surpassed March’s total by just $30,000, while the operator’s promotional spend topped $6 million for the fifth consecutive month

FanDuel Casino’s total $61 million in winnings was a 47% increase, with the handle of $1.6 billion reflecting a jump of 23.1%.
