It’s the time of year when we probably have enough things to be bothered about on Xbox Game Pass without adding another huge ARPG to the backlog. We can already play Diablo IV on Game Pass but that is entirely due to the fact Microsoft spent a bazillion dollars purchasing Activision Blizzard.
But with Path of Exile 2 about to hit the virtual shelves, will it be making an appearance on Microsoft’s ubiquitous gaming subscription service? Let’s have a look at what we know about the possibility.
Will Path of Exile 2 be on Xbox Game PassSadly, it is not slated for an appearance on Xbox Game Pass but we shouldn’t be overly downhearted as, to all intents and purposes the game is free of charge anyway.
Of course, there are several versions you can pick up by paying money for them which give you stuff such as three days early access that starts right about now, but from the 6th of December, you can just mosy on over to Steam and download the game itself for free before then deciding in the game if you want to drop any cash their way.
As it is free there isn’t really much call for a Game Pass slot, other than a nice wide audience of existing subscribers.
Game Pass subscribers have had plenty of big decent titles in the run-up to the holiday season, and, as much as it is annoying having to keep track of all your games tucked away in different spots on different hard drives on your PC courtesy of different libraries and installers, at least you won’t have to stump up any extra cash to get going in Wraeclast once the game finally launches.
We can’t wait to get stuck in and find out if Path of Exile 2 should be referred to as a “Diablo-like” as Blizzard would love to believe.
