Pawport brings its revamped smart pet door to CES

DATE POSTED:January 6, 2025

Pawport is back at CES with the latest version of its smart pet door, now offering a two-door system for improved security, sleek aesthetic options, and a suite of features designed to make it easier to let pets out while still keeping homes safe and energy-efficient.

The Pawport Smart Pet Door is designed to seamlessly retrofit onto existing pet doors, instantly transforming traditional models into high-security, app-controlled devices.

Paired with a lightweight, waterproof smart collar tag, the Pawport system uses motion-based proximity detection to open doors automatically for authorized pets only. The companion app enables remote management, customizable curfews, pet activity tracking, and voice control integration.

For new installations, an Outdoor Pet Door and Tunnel System creates a two-door configuration that works in tandem with the smart indoor door. Made of high-grade steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, this weatherproof system promises protection against intruders, pests, and thermal leaks. Together, the two doors offer an additional level of security for pet entryways, along with tamper alarms and solid deadbolts.

Pawport’s new pet door comes with 13 options across three series: Standard, Designer, and Signature. The more affordable Standard Series utilizes steel and composite plastic with durable paint finishes, while the Designer Series incorporates premium scratch-resistant materials in a variety of neutral and color options. Finally, the Signature Series adds textured facades that mimic natural wood grain.

The Pawport Smart Pet Door’s advanced features include pet-specific curfew and weather detection settings, which automatically prevent access during inclement weather or at designated times. Pet tracking insights provide real-time notifications and detailed data on your pet’s movements, while sensitivity gauges help to prevent accidental closures on pets. A lockable top panel is designed to keep small children from accessing the controls.

The system can be powered through USB-C, a hard-wired kit, or an optional solar panel to extend battery life, while an optional rechargeable battery pack can keep the system operating during a power outage.

The Pawport app offers control over the color and brightness of built-in LED lights, allowing homeowners to tailor the Smart Pet Door’s appearance. Pawport also offers accessories like premium matching collars, adjustable outdoor ramps, and the PawMat turf mat for paw cleaning.

Available in three sizes, the Pawport Smart Pet Door starts at $499 and will be available in early 2025.
