It’s that time again, another Pokemon TCG Pocket event is live and that means more rewards to scoop up before they go away forever.
This one is specifically focused on Venusaur (and a few other Pokemon alongside it), giving you the chance to secure a fancy new art for a fan-favorite starter evolution.

What is the Venusaur Drop Event in Pokemon TCG Pocket?The Venusaur Drop Event is the latest special event in Pokemon TCG Pocket, offering you the chance to earn exclusive promo cards tied to this limited-time challenge.
As with past events, it introduces a mix of battles and collectible rewards, appealing to those who like a bit of competition as well as avid collectors.
This event is centered around solo battles, requiring you to compete against increasingly difficult AI opponents to complete event-specific tasks.
During the Venusaur Drop Event, you can acquire special Promo-A Vol. 2 cards, including Venusaur, Greninja, Haunter, Onix, and Jigglypuff. These cards are only available for the duration of the event, making them a unique addition to your collection if you manage to secure them.
The Venusaur Drop Event runs from November 29 to December 13, 2024 so you’ll need to get building strong decks now or use the Best Rental Decks to ensure you get the full set.
The event shares the “event stamina” system, similar to that of the Lapras ex event, which governs how many battles you can participate in.
Each battle consumes a portion of your stamina, and if you run out, you’ll need to either wait for it to regenerate over time or use Event Hourglasses to replenish it instantly.
Early battles are relatively straightforward, but the difficulty ramps up as you progress, requiring more strategy and ‘better’ decks.
How to get Promo-A Venusaur in Pokemon TCG PocketTo earn the promo cards, you’ll need to participate in the event’s battles found under the Venusaur Drop Event section.
Winning these battles can reward you with one-card Promo-A Vol. 2 packs, which contain a random chance to unlock one of the event-specific promo cards. However, there’s no guarantee of receiving a card after every battle, as the packs are considered “Chance Rewards.”
If you do win a promo pack, it will be sent to your Gift Box rather than appearing in the usual pack section and you’ll need to claim it from your Gift Box before opening it to reveal your reward.
While the exact odds of obtaining each card are not disclosed, the in-game description suggests that all promo cards are chosen randomly.
This implies an equal chance of pulling any of the five cards in the event, making it likely that each has a 1 in 5 chance of appearing.
So, to get the Venusaur, you’ll have to just ride your luck and hope you get it fast in these one-card Vol. 2 promo packs!
