Resident Evil Requiem takes center stage at January 15 event
Capcom will host a Resident Evil Showcase on January 15 at 5 p.m. ET, streaming on Twitch and YouTube in English and Japanese, to present the latest details on Resident Evil Requiem before its February 27 release.
Resident Evil Requiem serves as the first new mainline entry in the Resident Evil series since Resident Evil Village launched in 2021. The upcoming title arrives just over a month after the showcase date and targets PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam platforms.
The event lasts approximately 12 minutes and delivers all the latest information on Resident Evil Requiem. This content includes gameplay footage captured ahead of the game’s availability across the specified consoles and PC.
An announcement on the Resident Evil website includes the statement: “Some of the games included in the show aren’t suitable for children.” This phrasing points to coverage of additional Resident Evil titles beyond Requiem during the broadcast.
Capcom plans to release ports of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village for Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, aligning with Requiem’s launch schedule. These ports extend access to earlier mainline entries on the new console.
The showcase holds potential for updates on the next Resident Evil movie. This project constitutes a reboot of the series, directed by Zack Cregger, filmmaker behind Barbarian and Weapons, with a scheduled theatrical release in September.
