Snap announces inaugural Snappy Awards to honor top creators
Snap is launching a creator awards show called the Snappy Awards Show. The event will be held at Snap’s headquarters on March 31. Comedian and content creator Matt Friend will host the show. This initiative aims to spotlight popular personalities across various fields. It follows Snapchat’s expansion of tools for influencers, including the recent launch of individual creator subscriptions.
Categories for the Snappys include Spotlight MVP, Best Storyteller, and Breakout Creator of the Year. Additional awards will recognize collaboration, cultural impact, and single-subject success. The show represents part of Snapchat’s agenda to support influencers. Snap is not the first platform to host such an event. TikTok hosted its inaugural US awards show the previous year.
