It’s been a long wait but Stalker 2 is finally here, bringing with it a true next gen post-apocalyptic FPS that will keep you glued to your screen.
Since there has been such a large gap between the first and second iterations of Stalker, over fifteen years in fact, you’ll definitely need to know if your PC is powerful enough to run the game.
Below, we’ll reveal the Stalker 2 system requirements so you’re prepped to enter the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Stalker 2 system requirements explainedAs promised, here are all of the Stalker 2 system requirements you need to ensure your system is up to scratch.
We’ve broken these down into minimum and recommended specs with the latter being separated further based on different graphical settings/resolutions.
Stalker 2 minimum system requirementsMedium (60FPS at 1080p)
High (60FPS at 1440p)
Ultra (60+ FPS at 4K)
Since Stalker 2 is quite a high fidelity game, if you’re wanting to play it on the go, you’ll need to know if it’s Steam Deck compatible.
At this current time, there hasn’t been any official confirmation as to whether it’ll boot up on the Deck but based on the above system requirements, we can make a pretty educated guess.
We think that considering Stalker 2 will run on a AMD Ryzen 5 1600X paired with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, it is likely that you’ll be able to get the game in a playable state.
As for what frame rates though, it’s probably going to be 30 FPS with potential dips, so if you want the full experience, we recommend either booting it up on your PC or using XBPlay which allows you to use the Xbox Cloud Gaming service on your handheld.
