Super Bowl LIX gets underway in a matter of days and those watching at home will be able to enjoy the annual showpiece in Dolby Atmos for the first time.
Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisana in front of a capacity crowd of over 73,000.
It will be a fantastic occasion for those fortunate enough to have a ticket for the ‘greatest show on earth’, but Dolby now means the fans at home and watching elsewhere can have the next best thing.
Comcast has added Atmos to its stream, to accompany Dolby Vision HDR, and further information has been provided.
It will be a 4K stream but enhanced from HD rather than a true 4K experience. While Atmos will provide a heightened audio output, the service is likely to be a virtualized surround signal.
What else to expect? Essentially, Dolby Vision will provide sharper color and enhance brightness, while Atmos adds spatial audio for a more immersive sound environment.
This year’s biggest game deserves the biggest experience
