Walmart Launches Digital Destination Focused on Health and Wellness

DATE POSTED:January 8, 2026

Walmart has launched a digital destination designed to help customers access health and wellness services and products.

The new Better Care Services offers access to third-party providers for urgent care and behavioral health, Eli Lilly and Company’s direct-to-consumer offering LillyDirect, and personalized food and recipe recommendations from Walmart’s artificial intelligence-powered Nutrition Hub, the company said in a Thursday (Jan. 8) press release.

After customers complete a consultation with one of the third-party healthcare providers offered on the platform, they can get their prescriptions and over-the-counter products via Walmart’s pickup and delivery options, according to the release.

“Better Care Services is about making wellness simple and affordable to fit into your life; we’re removing barriers so more people can get the care they deserve, right when they need it,” Kevin Host, senior vice president, health and wellness, pharmacy at Walmart, said in the release.

Walmart also highlighted some other health and wellness initiatives in the release. The retailer is rolling back prices on more than 1,000 wellness-focused items; expanding its wellness assortment with new additions to product categories like vitamins, supplements and granola; and offering more than 400 “New Year reset” recipes online.

On Jan. 24, the retailer will host its annual Wellness event at 4,600 pharmacies nationwide, offering free health screenings, low-cost immunizations and wellness consultations, per the release.

“Whether it’s the care you access, the food you buy or the products you rely on, our goal is to make wellness easier,” Ralph Clare, senior vice president, health and wellness merchandising at Walmart, said in the release.

PYMNTS reported in January 2025 that Walmart was leaning into health and wellness.

The report said that the retailer had offered its Wellness Day events since 2014 and had provided more than 5 million free screenings, particularly benefiting rural and underserved communities where medical access is limited.

Walmart announced its collaboration with Eli Lilly in October, saying this enables consumers to pick up single-dose vials of the weight loss drug Zepbound at Walmart pharmacies and pay the same price they would pay through LillyDirect.

Through this initiative, users of LillyDirect can select a local pickup option during the checkout process.
