Was Drake’s bizarre viral drone intrusion video a gambling ad?

Fans believe that Drake’s viral drone intrusion video at a Sydney penthouse was a promotional stunt for a gambling platform.

The past year has been an interesting one for the celebrity superstar, from last year’s legal action over an AI diss track with Tupac to his ongoing beef with Kendrick Lamar.

The high-profile rapper, 38, was seen in a video posted online capturing his showdown against an intruding drone on his balcony, which puzzled both fans and critics alike.

The events follow Drake exiting his room towards a table with a laptop and a glass of rosé before noticing the approaching drone. The rapper then took hold of an orange slide before hurling it at his unwelcome visitor.

Fans noticed there was something odd about the whole escapade, and it wasn’t that Drake wears orange sliders. Many in the comments section pointed out that the whole video was potentially staged.

Perceptive users noticed what was believed to be a drone pilot on the same balcony tucked away in a corner, revealed through a reflection on the nearby glass doors. In light of this, many theorized that they were in control of the “rogue” drone that was spying on Drake.

Why would Drake do this?

The video posted was captioned, “Someone flew a drone up to Drake’s penthouse in Australia, and he tried to knock it down with a slide.” The reasons behind the video’s creation are unclear, though some believe that there was an ulterior motive on Drake’s part.

While it may be possible that it’s the classic case of a paparazzi or overly obsessed fan spying on a celebrity, many users online theorize that it’s a marketing stunt. Drake has been known in the past to dabble in gambling, with recent examples including his $565,000 loss in last year’s Fury vs Usyk fight.

In the opening of the video, a webpage for the crypto gambling site Stake was conveniently opened on the laptop. Stake is an Australian-Curaçaoan online casino operator that offers gambling and crypto services and is a site Drake is partnered with.

FearBuck made a post on X expressing his shock about Drake’s encounter with the drone, though not everyone was convinced of the honesty behind his words.
