Oprah Winfrey will present a primetime show for ABC in discussion with some of the biggest players in tech, on the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) space.
The broadcast, titled “AI and the Future of Us: An Oprah Winfrey Special,” is set to air September 12 at 8 pm ET and stream on Hulu the following day.
OpenAI CEO and Bill Gates to featureOpenAI CEO Sam Altman, former Microsoft chief Bill Gates, FBI director Christopher Wray, tech reviewer Marques Brownlee, and more will all feature during the show.
The guests will aim to discuss the subject in depth with Altman explaining in simple terms what AI is, and what it can do. Gates will make an offering on the advances that AI could bring to education and healthcare, while Wray will speak on AI means from a law enforcement and national security perspective.
Overall, the conversations in the program are expected to touch on how technology is going to impact our lives moving forward into the future.

With AI getting the headline treatment by ABC and Winfrey, it shows how seriously the subject is being taken. This is a mainstream event, with the broadcaster seeking to inform public opinion and provoke discussion within sectors of the population who may not yet be utilizing AI.
