High-end watch manufacturer AVI-8 has teamed up with Capcom to bring a timepiece worthy of a spot on any retro gamer’s wrist. While Nintendo may well be doing smart alarm clocks like the Alarmo, AVI-8’s homage to one of the most iconic shoot ’em-ups of all time – 1942 is a beautiful sight to behold and harks back to simpler times.
The limited edition watch with automatic Japanese movement and sapphire lens, comes in three different varieties, each bringing to life a scene any Capcom fan will recognize instantly.
The watch is crafted with precision and includes a 41mm case, a 5-link engineer-style bracelet, and an extra hybrid leather and rubber strap. Swiss luminous hands and indexes ensure visibility, while the sapphire lens guarantees durability.
Check out the detail on the image below with the fighter on the minute hand so it moves around the watch face and the detail on the island is just incredible. If you want to see what the engraved gunmetal back looks like, there is a photo at the bottom of the page too. Aww, it’s just lovely.
The run is limited to just 1,000 pieces split across the three different designs so we can’t see this hanging around long. If you need to see any more then you can check out the AVI-8 website for further details.
