DOOM + DOOM II game released now, posters of both the games which have been combined

With QuakeCon having begun yesterday (August 8) a flurry of announcements was anticipated, with the arrival of a remaster of the first two Doom games to be one of the first to come out of the convention.

DOOM + DOOM II is a compilation re-release of the classic games which are frequently hailed as one of the most influential games ever.

Now, with both the 1993 original and the 1994 sequel being combined, there are a total of 187 mission maps and 43 deathmatch maps.

On the new Steam listing, the description says: “Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993 and 1994, the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM + DOOM II are available as a combined product.”

Players who own either title are also eligible for a free upgrade and the newly enhanced versions are available in a single release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms.

4K for DOOM + DOOM II

The modern adaptation has been called the “biggest effort yet” by the team, with an online cross-platform deathmatch and co-op for up to 16 players.

Other new features include the community-published single-player mod support with an in-game mod browser.

There has also been improved performance with multithreaded rendering supporting up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS on Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5. The game has been translated into eight new languages including Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

There is added BOOM source compatibility too, making it possible for hundreds of community-created mods from the past 25 years to be published in-game.

Owners Receive:

– The Plutonia Experiment

– Master Levels for DOOM II

– No Rest for the Living
