Extend Enables More Credit Cards to Connect to Expense Management Platform

DATE POSTED:November 21, 2025

Extend now enables businesses to connect “virtually any” bank credit card to its spend and expense management platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

This capability gives SMBs’ finance teams a centralized view of all their company cards as well as an app that streamlines expense tracking, reporting and reconciliation, the company said in a Thursday (Nov. 20) press release.

Extend’s platform now supports “virtually any” credit card from the three major card networks, according to the release.

By doing so, it makes it easier for SMBs to connect all their company cards in one place; automate expense tracking, categorization and reconciliation; and capture and match receipts automatically, the release said.

It also allows SMBs to do so while continuing to use their preferred credit cards, bank relationships and rewards programs, per the release.

“Our mission has always been to make smarter spend management accessible to every business — no matter who they bank with,” Extend CEO and Co-founder Andrew Jamison said in the release. “By enabling nearly any bank credit card to connect with Extend, we’re eliminating the barriers that keep companies tied to manual, outdated processes.”

This move follows some other expansions of the capabilities of Extend’s platform.

The company said Nov. 10 that it partnered with PNC Bank to offer new payment capabilities to PNC’s commercial clients. Businesses that enroll their existing PNC Bank commercial cards can access Extend’s mobile and web platform to unlock a suite of tools for controlling, managing and optimizing business spend.

In March, Extend launched a referral agreement with Visa in which firms defined by Visa as emerging middle-market companies can use virtual cards to manage spending, fight fraud and close their books more quickly. Jamison said at the time in a press release that Extend’s relationship with Visa “is a key pillar in our effort to deliver powerful payment technology without asking customers to give up the business card they prefer or the bank they trust.”

In April 2024, Extend introduced a feature called Bill Pay that allows businesses to streamline invoice payments with virtual cards. The tool lets customers create and send virtual cards for invoice payments via the Extend app and pay multiple vendor invoices in bulk.
