The latest iteration of the Farming Simulator games has hit a staggering two million sales – and that’s just in the first week of release.
The somewhat quirky game franchise is beloved by fans. As the name suggests, there are no high-speed chases or bloody fights in Farming Simulator. Gamers grow crops, look after animals, and sell their goods.
The highly anticipated Farming Simulator 25 launched on November 12 after thousands of players attended this summer’s FarmCon. They were eager for new content after the last installment came out in late 2021.
FM25 comes with more than 400 items and vehicles, as well as a new cement factory for bigger builds and greenhouse produce like garlic and spring onions.
‘Most successful launch in the history of Farming Simulator’The game’s developer GIANTS Software confirmed the number of copies sold on X today (Nov. 19).
It said: “The most successful launch in the history of Farming Simulator – 2 million copies sold in week one and peaking at 125,000+ players active simultaneously on Steam alone on launch day – with thousands more playing across all platforms throughout the week!”
The game was additionally the second best seller on Steam’s chart this week.
GIANTS Software also revealed that it is already working on more updates, patches, and expansion packs, as well as “looking forward to the awesome creations from our community”. Last week, ReadWrite shared the best mods for the game.
However, the replies on X are already filled with complaints. Many gamers are reporting crashes, calling for fixes and clamoring for a 60 frames per second version.
One user said: “Sorry guys I’m about to return my copy. I actually can’t be dealing with the horrendous 30fps on console it gives me a headache.”
Farming Simulator 25 is available to buy now for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S.
