How to get Splitgate 2 Alpha access

The first version of Splitgate really set the FPS community alight with its innovative gameplay, mashing up the likes of Halo and Portal.

Now, we’re on the verge of getting Splitgate 2 – a more refined and bulked out experience that could stand the test of time.

Currently though it’s only in an Alpha state, requiring you to get access.

Here, we’ll reveal how to get into the Splitgate 2 Alpha so you can get onboard before the 1.0 launch.

As of right now, there is only one way to get a Splitgate 2 Alpha key and this is to request it via Steam.

This is quite frustrating for console owners because the game will in fact be releasing on there, but it looks like the Alpha is just staying as a PC-only affair.

Simply head over to the Splitgate 2 Steam store page and hit the all-important ‘Request Access’ button to register your interest.

One thing to note here is that this doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a key for the playtest, what it does do is put you into a pool for the developers to pick from.

The Splitgate 2 Alpha begins on August 21 and runs until August 25, so there is a bit of time from when we’re writing this for there to be other methods of gaining access to be added.

There may even be Twitch Drops similar to that of Delta Force: Hawk Ops, which is using that system as another way for players to gain entry.

In the meantime, you can head over to the official Splitgate 2 website and sign up there since you’ll be provided with the latest news on the game, coupled with “exclusive content, in-game rewards, and a few surprises” which sounds very exciting.
