Since its release last year, LEGO Fortnite has been a hugely successful spin-off from the original battle royale game. Now, with the upcoming Storm Chasers update, Epic Games has announced that LEGO Fortnite has a new name – LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. This game update lands on December 10th, 2024.
New Game Mode and LocationsThis major update comes with a whole new survival mode, Storm Chasers, which comes with its own new locations. Players will find themselves in the new Storm Chaser Village, where their ultimate objective is to take down the tyrannical Storm King.
In this new game mode, you’ll find brand new enemies, new dungeons, and powerful weapons “using improved crafting mechanics”.
Storm DungeonsIn this new game mode, random storms will form across the map and players also run the risk of getting hit by lightning – so watch out! The most exciting thing about these storms, however, is that you’ll find a Storm Dungeon at its center, which holds a piece of the Storm King’s power. You’ll need to brave these perilous Storm Dungeons to take down the Storm King.
It seems that once you’ve defeated a Storm Dungeon you have a 24-hour cooldown before another one spawns. Epic Games has confirmed that the dungeons are “reborn with new pathways, dangers, and puzzles”, so hopefully there’s enough variety in these dungeons to keep players interested.
New EnemiesAlong with the all-new Storm Dungeons, players will also encounter new enemies in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey: Storm King’s Acolytes and Storm Crawlers. Some of the elite enemies will have their own special abilities and we can probably assume they’re storm or lightning-themed!
LEGO Fortnite Odyssey BossesAnd now for the main event – the big bosses. There are two new bosses: Raven, who is the Storm King’s right-hand man, and the Storm King himself. Raven will appear to battle players after they’ve helped progress Storm Chaser Village. Once you’ve beaten Raven, you’ll get to face the king himself. This is a multi-stage boss fight and Epic Games highly recommends bringing along friends to face this foe! The loot is meant to be pretty good too, with the Storm King dropping the Thunderclap Blade, Cyclone Pickaxe, and Shatterhorn Fragments. This guy also has a 24-hour cooldown, so players can repeat this fight as much as they want for extra rewards.
