Is Lego Horizon Adventures coming to Xbox? Chances seem high

DATE POSTED:December 16, 2024
Lego Aloy from Lego Horizon Adventures

New reports have emerged which suggest that Lego Horizon Adventures could be coming out on Xbox platforms as soon as early 2025.

An Algerian website called Just Play It has reported (translated by Google) that its sources know of a new Sony game (that game being Lego Horizon Adventures) that will be coming to Xbox consoles “very soon”, between the end of this year and early 2025. This was later picked up by English-speaking outlet Insider Gaming.

While Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West are first-party PlayStation-exclusive games that will likely never see an Xbox release, the Lego games occupy a slightly different space in gaming. They are usually released across multiple platforms, and other Lego games are available on both PlayStation and Xbox.

So, while it might seem unlikely for a Horizon game to come to Xbox, it is extremely likely for a Lego game to be released across multiple platforms. In fact, it is already on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Whether Lego Horizon Adventures will be coming to Game Pass or not is another question, however. It seems much less likely that it will come to Game Pass than it coming to the Xbox platform at all, but we’ve been surprised before so keep your eyes peeled.

Lego Horizon Adventures mixed reception

Lego Horizon Adventures launched in November to fairly lackluster reviews, netting a ‘Mixed or Average’ 70 score on Metacritic for critics reviews, and a 6.3 out of 10 for user reviews. While not the worst Lego video game out there, it certainly seems to have missed the mark for many.

As for sales and player counts, the game seems to have missed there too. There isn’t a good way to see an accurate report of how many copies are sold, but according to SteamDB, the game peaked at 602 concurrent users, and we don’t have to outline how low that is.

If the predicted release date of late 2024 – early 2025 is accurate, it means that the port will have been in the works for months already and isn’t really a reaction to poor reviews and sales, but Sony is surely hoping they will see a boost from Xbox gamers.
