Linktree Jumps Into Social Commerce With Sephora

Linktree, the largest and best known among the dozens of startups offering link-in-bio tools—the landing pages that link creators’ social media accounts to product pages, podcasts and videos—is expanding into social commerce. 

The seven-year-old startup is testing an affiliate marketing program with Sephora, Revolve and Urban Outfitters. Creators will earn commissions of about 12% to 15%, although it may vary by the brand and product in the future. Linktree won't take a cut during its early testing phase, but said it would be a nominal fee.

The company has also started rolling out Linktree Stores, allowing creators to set up their own shops that appear within their link-in-bio page, where they can curate and sell their favorite products. It’s also working on an algorithm to match products with Linktree users, and plans to offer product placement abilities for advertisers in a future feed for discovering new items to purchase.
