On Monday (Sep, 16), Apple released its newest computer operating system called macOS Sequoia, but it hasn’t been a smooth launch as users are reporting several major issues.
Hundreds of people have taken to the web to say that the Messages app isn’t syncing as it should, especially when it comes to using other iOS devices.
One user on Reddit asked for support in the macOS board, saying they had Messages in iCloud turned on but were still seeing syncing issues.
In response, one user simply said “I have the same problem” and another replied, “I’ve been having Message sync issues for the past week all of a sudden.”

The issue appears to be impacting both incoming and outgoing messages. While the update to the new system has taken place this week, some users on older versions of macOS have reported similar issues.
An Apple user took to the company’s community boards to ask others for a solution, writing: “After updating my iPhone 15 pro max to ios 18 and my 2019 iMac to Sequoia messages no longer updates on my iMac.
“I can still read what was there before the updates but not afterward. I also cannot send messages from my iMac. Messages is still working on iPhone.”
Shortly after, a responder said they had “spent a half hour with support” who told them “this is an issue and that they have to send a patch.”
