Meet Modulus, as the conveyor belt of factory games keeps on rolling

Modulus

We have a lot of love for Satisfactory here. It’s without a doubt one of the games of the year, has already picked up the Golden Joystick Award for Best PC Game in 2024, and is the perfect example of a simple concept gone crazy difficult and executed well to do so.

We also recently looked at the upcoming Automate It which is along similar production line lines. Now, here comes Modulus, although by here comes, we mean at some point towards the end of next year, which is the only disappointing thing about what we can see so far, because we want to play it now.

Modulus looks like taking the Factory sim genre and adding a little bit extra to it, with that extra being allowing you to make custom parts so that you can design beautiful things.

“With Modulus, we set out to design a game that celebrates the beauty of mindful creativity,” said Jeroen Janssen, CEO of Happy Volcano. “It’s about more than efficiency. It’s about the joy of crafting something intellectually rewarding and emotionally calming. Astra has been an amazing partner, sharing our passion for a game that invites players to find satisfaction in every module they design.”

Take a look at the trailer below and if you have even a hint of love for Satisfactory this will be going straight on your Steam Wishlist.

Modulus is being designed by Happy Volcano, the award-winning studio behind The Almost Gone, You Suck at Parking, and Pixel Picasso so the pedigree is there

“I love how elegant Modulus is,” said Heather Jackson, Managing Director for Astra Logical. “Seriously, this isn’t just another factory automation game. This is brilliant zen design — create order out of chaos, find quiet satisfaction in your flow state. Happy Volcano is a team of such rockstars (Jeroen definitely looks the part), and Astra couldn’t be more mesmerized by what they are building.”

We just wish the Belgian devs weren’t going to make us wait until Q3 next year to get our hands on it.
