Merry Ficsmas: Satisfactory gets a Christmas event update

The Factory-sim game Satisfactory is getting a major limited-time Christmas-themed event, starting December 1st, 2024. This has been a recurring event in the past, and Ficsmas seems bigger than ever now that it’s no longer in early access. In 2023, there was no holiday-themed event, so long-time players will surely be looking forward to the return of Ficsmas. Here’s what to expect this year:

Each day, players will be able to input the date (1-25) into the bar at the bottom of the calendar to unlock a Ficsmas-themed gift. The calendar itself is found near the HUB terminal. You can also add an extra layer of challenge by trying to find the number hidden in the picture and clicking on it, rather than just popping in the number – they can get quite tricky! You can’t click a date in advance, but you can go back and pick up gifts from earlier days, so players don’t have to worry too much about logging into their factory every day.

The trailer shows that players will be able to get all sorts of items, from fairy lights and baubles to Christmas-themed trucks, snow dispenser canons, and more! In addition to unlocking new items, skins, gifts, and décor, players will also notice giant gifts falling from the sky around them. They will provide Ficsmas Gifts, which are the Christmassy-themed currency of the event. You can use these Gifts to reskin conveyor belts and pipelines, to give your factory that much needed festive feel. These giant gifts will only spawn within 300m of the pioneer, so you don’t need to go scouting out for them!

So what’s new in this Ficsmas event? Most of the stuff shown in the trailer has been a part of previous Christmas events, but notable changes include the Ficsmas Snow Dispenser and the Ficsmas fireworks, which have both had a major visual rework and work a bit better this time round as well.

You’ll find a lot more Ficsmas decorations to choose from as well. And finally, there’ll also be a chance to see *real* snow falling around the world, and players might be able to spot Aurora Borealis too – so keep your eyes to the skies! Satisfactory really is the gift that keeps on giving – Merry Ficsmas everyone!
