Now you can play the best Sega Saturn games of all time on your iPhone or iPad

DATE POSTED:August 12, 2024
A photo of the North American version of the Sega Saturn.

It seems there is no better time to be getting emulation than right now. What used to be the domain of hardcore retro gamers keen to relive past memories, these days, all you need really is that little pocket computer you carry around all the time and you can delve into just about any famous fame from history with a token gesture on the effort front.

Back in the day, the Sega Saturn launched at the same time as the Sony PlayStation, we all know how history panned out but there were still some exception games for the Saturn and because it ended up getting obliterated by the PlayStation, they aren’t always at the top of everybody’s playlist.

Now though, with the latest addition to the Apple App Store, some of the best games you have never played for the Sega Saturn have leaped into your pocket. Fancy a little Panzer Dragoon on the bus? How about some Sega Rally while you wait for your food to arrive in a restaurant? Both, and more are now possible if you grab the Yaba Sanshiro emulator. Unlike the Android version, the iOS version is not free – weighing in at $4.99.

Finally, Yaba Sanshiro was released in the Apple App Store! You can play SEGA Saturn games on your iPhone or iPad or Mac. This version only includes basic features to facilitate approval. If there is demand, we will continue to expand it.https://t.co/vEMyDUwkCQ

Obviously, the emulator doesn’t come with games or BIOS and you will need both to continue on the journey, but either a watch of this video or a little Google-Fu will see you right.

While not exactly as the games were meant to play played, Saturn games in the main play really well if you attach a controller to you phone, but there are touch screen controls include for when you really are on the move.
